Another piece of “Fish”. This time, I decided the palette was more like monochromatic and I liked how it came out. Personally, I want to eat that lobster.

Hope you like it!

I am still in the “undersea” mood~

Another piece of doing some mythology sea creatures. This time, I spent more time on doing the undertone black and white study which gave value and structure to the whole composition. I think the black and white study actually helped me a lot when I was doing the colors.

Hope you like it~

The Eggs of Mermaid

The second time I did some mermaids…and I wanted to do a cute one! I specially enjoyed doing the fish scales and had a very hard time doing the fish eggs.

Hope you like it~

"Greetings from Cats" for "6 Degrees" Show at Light Grey Art Lab

My piece for the “6 Degrees” Show at Light Grey Art Lab. My piece depicted my five white cats at home. They moved with me to USA from Hong Kong six years ago and they are all biologically related. The cat at the bottom is the father, Bobo; then is the mother, Joyce; then is the daughter, Bebe; then is the son, Cathy(father: Bobo, mother is Bebe) , the top one is Dickie, (father: Cathy’s brother, mother: Cathy’s sister) Cathy and Dickie are lovers and they also have four kittens, but our family didn’t keep one.

I hope you understand what I am saying… their relationship is kind of complicated.

Please visit the art store for prints and all other amazing pieces by artists all around the globe.

Package of all the postcards in the show was just received today from Light Grey Art Lab!

Happy Thanksgiving 2013!

My illustration for the Thanksgiving Day next week. I want to illustrate something about the seasonal environment and the warm hearted feeling. I have always dreamt about that I ride a motorbike with my cat together…However, this would not be happened in reality because I even don’t know how to ride a bicycle at all.

If  you need to take a long ride/drive to home for Thanksgiving, hope you have a save trip~ Enjoy your holiday!

Queen of Spades

(digital)

Yeah! I finished all the queens!I will move on for the rest of the cards soon.
I chose a cat for the queen of spades. I tried to make the cat looks royal, elegant and cute at the same time. When I portray animals, I like to give them personality and it is very enjoyable to do!
Hope you like it!!

Queen of Diamonds

(digital)

This was the first time I did a sheep and I found the texture of the fleece was kind of very difficult to depict. It was a trial and error, I did it serval times and I got it finally. Enjoy!

Queen of Clubs

(digital)

For the Clubs Queen, I chose to do a skunk, which has very beautiful fur and a very elegant look. However, the skunk is famous for their ability to spray a liquid with a strong odor!

Hope you enjoy this card!

Queen of Hearts

(digital)

I started a new series of playing card illustrations. More cards will be coming out soon!
